Bianca Judd

About

Bianca teaches our Summer Schools for 14-18 year olds and is also our Aylesbury studio assistant, supporting the tutors and helping the Makeup FX & Prosthetics Creation students through their 7-week courses. She also assists with some of our bespoke courses. She is a graduate of our Aylesbury 7-week course herself and in 2016 won the coveted Stan Winston School Creature Competition with her fabulous final project Shrump, the characterful puppet shown in her profile picture here!

Bianca originally trained as a performer, discovering an enjoyment of creating props, sets and costumes through this, so moved into prosthetics after 20 years in theatre, community arts and directing youth theatre productions. Recent teaching projects for Gorton Studio include assisting with bespoke workshops in Poland, and working with postgraduate students from the National Film & Television School to create and deliver the prosthetics for a short film. Recent credits include fabrication for Millennium FX on Doctor Who, a commercial for Old Spice and creature fabrication and hair work for two major theme parks. Bianca also stage manages the main stage at The Prosthetics Event, our annual gathering of prosthetics practitioners, students, enthusiasts and fans in Birmingham.
