Life Casting and Matrix Moulding

Life casting in silicone and plaster bandage, and casting a PU resin and rigid foam positive from the life cast. Cleaning up the life cast and making a base for it, then preparing to matrix mould the life cast.

Course Description

Creating believable ageing makeup is challenging and relies on skilful sculpting. This course takes you through the initial stages of the process, starting with life casting a subject and making a matrix mould from the life cast in order to duplicate it for use in sculpting multiple prosthetic makeups. This is followed by the crucial steps involved in sculpting three progressive stages of old age makeup in plastiline on the duplicate casts.
