Prosthetics Magazine issue 20 was well worth the wait!

It’s been a longer wait than usual for the new issue of our favourite magazine but it was definitely worth the wait – issue 20 is here and it’s a brilliant read!

In it you’ll find muscle suits, makeup FX and mirth on Bill & Ted Face the Music, wonderful new prosthetic work by industry artists created in the challenging times we’re living in, the complex task of creating the prosthetic FX for German sci-fi series Dark, the coming of age of The Prosthetics Event with its move to Ricoh Arena, the Swamp Thing TV series characters that fell victim to a surprise shutdown of filming and the creation of the hard-hitting prosthetics in Hulu’s Books of Blood.

Stuart Bray and Todd Debreceni give us exercises and insights with which to practice airbrushing techniques in the concluding part of their primer Airbrush-101, Hollywood makeup FX artist Richard Redlefsen creates a stunning lookalike makeup of Mother Teresa on his wife Anna, and Academy Award-winner Joel Harlow gives us some Words of Wisdom as well as taking us through the build of 8 brand new pieces of work created during the unheard-of industry downtime of the 2020 pandemic quarantine.
