Digital manufacturing meets practical makeup FX: a 15-year journey

Our skipper Neill Gorton has just finished writing an article for the next issue of Prosthetics Magazine about the hot subject of amalgamating digital manufacturing technology with practical makeup FX techniques – a practice that is becoming gradually widespread in film industry FX workshops.

Neill has been an advocate of this way of working for many years, and his first foray into it was for this music video for Katie Melua’s beautiful single ‘I Cried for You’ way back 2005.

Digital technology has advanced dramatically in the 15 years since – look out for the article entitled ‘From Virtual to Reality’ in issue 19 of the magazine to find out more – it’s out in mid-May, get your copy here!
