Sculpting a simple wound appliance in plastiline: a great introduction to silicone prosthetics and easily reproduced with only the most basic materials and equipment.

Application of a Basic Flat Mould Appliance

Application of a flat mould appliance comparing two different techniques: a traditional application of the de-moulded appliance and then an application using the method of transferring the piece directly from the mould onto the skin. The applications use both silicone and acrylic adhesives. The appliance is adhered, blended, sealed, coloured, and dressed with fake blood.

Course Description

Flat moulds can be used for character, ageing, and casualty looks. Here Neill creates a facial laceration appliance to teach the process, including application techniques and dressing the applied pieces with fake blood.
