Make-up Artist Magazine hits 100th issue

American publication Make-Up Artist Magazine is the most popular regular read of make-up artists across the globe. Having started back in June 1996, the current issue (Feb/March 2013) is their 100th edition and we congratulate them on their continuing success.

The special anniversary issue includes an article by US journalist and friend of Gorton Studio Joe Nazzaro, called 'Ready for their Close Ups', about make-up artists making cameo appearances in films. These include artists such as John Chambers, Greg Nicotero, Rick Baker, Ray Harryhausen, Greg Cannom, Tony Gardner, Bill Corso, Anthony Parker, Tim Gore, Montse Ribé, Richie Alonzo, Jake Garber, Shaun Smith, Mike Elizalde, Mike Smithson and you guessed it.....Neill Gorton, all of whom have all appeared on screen!

Neill's cameo was in 2001 Hughes brothers' crime drama 'From Hell' starring Johnny Depp, in which he appeared as a customer in a rather hazy Opium den!

Make-Up Artist magazine is also the company behind the industry trade shows (IMATS) that take place annually in LA, New York, Vancouver, Sydney, Toronoto and London. This year's London show at the end of June will feature Neill as a 'Keynote Speaker', find out more here and watch an overview of the 2009 IMATS below.
