NFTS awarded Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema gong

Congratulations to the brilliant National Film and Television School on being awarded the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema gong by the EE British Academy Film Awards.

We are proud to have worked with the NFTS for over a decade. Neill was asked to devise a module that would introduce their digital effects MA students to prosthetics and makeup FX. His solution was to create a short film that would combine both practical and digital elements. Ten years on this module has grown to become a major annual project affectionately known as Gorefest. The BBC news item in this link visits the set constructed for this year's film which is directed by Millennium FX’s own Chris Goodman.

The NFTS joins a prestigious list of recipients of this award including Sir Kenneth Branagh, Ridley and Tony Scott, Tessa Ross, Working Title Films, BBC Films and Curzon. Marc Samuelson, Chair of BAFTA’s Film Committee said: “The NFTS is a truly integral part of our industry, and is hugely deserving of this award.”
