WHO COMES TO GORTON STUDIO?

All kinds of people!

Being a current leader in his field, Neill is able to teach from the ‘front end’ of the industry, incorporating the latest materials and techniques into his classes. Pitched at various skill levels, these classes are carefully devised to meet the needs of a diverse array of participants and the learning environment is relaxed but dynamic.

We’ve welcomed everyone from amateur enthusiasts and novices to award winning film industry professionals, college and university students and education sector tutors and lecturers. Complete beginners have created their first portfolio pieces here and many working industry professionals have come to update and fine-tune their skills.

The Studio is a truly international affair, with course participants having now come from a total of 15 countries from right across the UK and Europe and as far a-field as Malaysia and Australia.

One of the main complements the Studio regularly receives is that Neill and the other tutors show a refreshing generosity with their knowledge and skills. This openness is integral to all our teaching and is one of the key reasons why people travel impressive distances to come and study here!

“……definitely a great opportunity of learning from two people who not only are experts, but are very generous with their knowledge”

Greasepaint Tutor, BAFTA Winner and ‘Advanced Prosthetic Application’ course participant

Teaching Teachers

Because Neill and Millennium FX are constantly active at the forefront of screen prosthetics, they are able to literally teach from the heart of the industry.

It is this truly contemporary quality that has led to teachers from many other educational institutions attending our courses, to keep abreast of current industry trends, materials and techniques to take back to their own students.

A key feature of the way in which Neill delivers his teaching in this area is his integration of supporting health and safety issues.

In particular he constantly develops new materials and techniques with the objective of making them as safe and user-friendly as possible. This work has enabled other institutions to implement teaching in this field where it would otherwise not have been possible.
