MODELLING OPPORTUNITIES

Some of our classes require models, whose job it is to patiently let students practice their techniques on them!

Modelling at Gorton Studio is a real opportunity for anyone interested in prosthetics. It’s a great way to gain an insight into the subject, pick up tips and meet interesting people.

Our models come from all walks of life, from students and amateur enthusiasts to business people and working professional make-up artists, but they all have one thing in common – they’re all mad about prosthetics!

Usually modelling involves having facial prosthetics applied or in some cases having a life cast done – this could be of a hand or arm for example, and occasionally a full head cast is required – we will always let you know if this is the case

Whilst being a model, as well as experiencing what it is like to wear prosthetics you will also benefit from:

  • Seeing Neill in action as he demonstrates his techniques
  • Listening to the class you are modelling for and picking up valuable information
  • Meeting new people with the same passion for prosthetics
  • Chatting to the course participants, many of whom are industry professionals
  • Generally having fun and enjoying the buzz of the Studio!

We offer a basic hourly rate of pay which helps out with travel and accommodation costs, plus unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits!

Here’s what some of our models have to say about the experience:

“Brilliant!! I had a great time and learned a lot and made new friends”

“I have had a great weekend modelling. I have learnt so much which I hope to put into practice. Neill was great and full of many useful tips and great advice….thank you for an inspiring weekend”

“Excellent course, enthusiastic and well structured….a really enjoyable experience and you will learn a lot too – well recommended”

“Brilliant – as always!!”

"Fantastic fun and very informative – I’d recommend it to anyone"

"Thank you for such a great experience modelling on the lifecasting workshop! Being in the industry and having an interest in special effects make-up I found it extremely beneficial, and it has inspired me to want to look further into this side of the business and possibly do a course myself next year – many thanks!"
