Conceived in response to requests from busy make-up artists, who are keen to learn prosthetic application but with the problem of schedules which haven't allowed them to commit to our previous one week courses - this is our 'weekend solution!' The entire workshop will be taught by Neill, and is designed for a maximum of 6 students.
The objective of the weekend is to teach you how to apply ready-made prosthetics, and as the time frame is limited it will concentrate on gelatine and silicone appliances as these are fast becoming the industry's materials of choice.
Both days will begin with Neill demonstrating application techniques using a mix of gelatine and silicone appliances, followed by students working on models to copy the processes. This is a simple but effective format, and the repetition of techniques on the models on day two is essential in order to grasp the fundamental principles of using the materials successfully.
Using both large and small appliances, you will focus on:
Different adhesives
Colouring
Blending techniques for translucent prosthetics
Application techniques
Removal of prosthetic appliances
You will be supplied with printed notes of all the information covered reference, and each participant will be provided with their own model for the duration of the workshop.
We will supply all the pieces, adhesives, removers and basic tools for you to participate fully in all of the workshop activities. You are welcome to bring you own make-up kit however and please be advised that the brushes we supply are only very basic so coming equipped with your own is advisable!
